We are all aware of how bad cigarette smoking is for us. Many researches have proven time and again the link of smoking with lung cancer and emphysema, or heart failure and a lot of other body troubles. We should not neglect though that apart from these deadly diseases, smoking has other effects that even if may not cause us to die, it will definitely weaken our quality of living and degrade our body and condemn it to ruins.
A common negative is our precipitate skin aging. By premature aging, we are talking about fine lines and wrinkles, or dryness, or sagging skin and puffiness. Yes that’s right. The sun is not the only enemy of our venerated skin.
Smoke from cigarette is definitely a pollutant. As with other pollutants, our skin is damaged when exposed to them as they cause free radicals production on our body. Free radicals are unstable molecules that weaken the body\'s cells. And whereas the effects are noticeable on our skin, we should know that damages actually extend far deeper.
Free radicals, or toxins for sure spoil our skin, and our body. Researches shew that the fewer toxins the body is exposed to, the firmer and more even the skin is.
In addition to the free radicals, smoking also diminishes the level of collagen on our skin. Smoke lessens the level of this protein, which works a glue that holds our skin firm, elastic and smooth. So, collagen will be harder to stimulate and will slowly reduce. As we lose the binders of our skin, this will cause wrinkles and sagging skin. Smoking will make this process faster, precipitaly aging our skin.
Finally, at least for the purpose of this article, smoking diminishes vascularity. With less circulation of the blood, there will be less oxygen traveling to our skin cells. Oxygen is a principlal part and factor in getting us a healthy skin.
The thing is, these effects detract not only smokers. Those also weaken the body of people exposed to smoke. Therefore, despite you may be a non smoker, but live with someone who smokes, your body is also a probable sufferer to the decline caused by cigarette.
So you have to break the habit now. You are downgrading not only your body, but also the bodies of your close ones. It is never too late. If you are currently suffering and noticing signs of the ill effects of cigrettes, you may want to get some anti-aging creams available on the market to help you get a healthier skin. Of course, nothing will be better than actually breaking up with cigarettes, and dooming smoking for the rest of your life. -Thomas Leroy
